New Scanner
:D

Amazon shipped it overnight. I payed for two-day shipping, but it came the next day after they shipped it. Hot. It came in the most massive box ever, and I thought for a minute I didn't grasp what 11x17 meant. But I opened it up, and the scanner box was like half the size. XD

I had to bust out a table just to hold this baby. (Microphone is not happy being shoved further in the corner. Sorry!)

Like I said earlier, I was a bit worried because of the reviews on Amazon saying they were having problems getting it to work on OS X.

At first, GIMP didn't recognize it, so I downloaded an updated driver from Mustek's website. Ta da! GIMP recognized it, and opened up GIMPtwain...great, except I couldn't press any of the buttons! Crap! Well, I remembered one review saying the TWAIN driver it came with it was non-standard, but Photoshop recognized it...off I went to bootleg Photoshop.

Twenty minutes later, my scanner was up and running. Look at it! This isn't the best example, since I didn't erase the pencil marks, but I didn't know lines could get that crisp. (It's 600dpi, what I always scan B&W at.) I'm going to be so spoiled by this thing...

Between this and going shopping at Dick Blick, I'll be one happy comicker :D
